Rapper and actress Eve has just nabbed a gig on "The Talk".

"The women were thrilled when they heard Eve would be joining the show and can't wait to start talking and engaging her in the conversation", CBS exec Angelica McDaniel, who oversees daytime programming at the network, tells Variety. Eve made her debut Tuesday, Nov. 14 alongside other co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood. "In my career, people know me from my music and I have done certain things in entertainment, but this is a different avenue for me".

Now based in London, Eve said that when she was first approached to host, she thought it would be an ideal position but had to think about it. "If it feels right, then it must be right".

CBS' Daytime Emmy Award-winning talk show features a panel of well-known news and entertainment personalities discussing current events, pop culture, contemporary issues, family, celebrity and the trending topics of the day. "Casting a partner on-air, whether it's one of five, one of two, is a very hard thing because it's that thing we always talk about, chemistry", she added.

As a musician, Grammy-winner Eve has released four studio albums and 32 singles. Last year, she reunited with Stefani for the "This Is What the Truth Feels Like" tour. She's also starred in the Barbershop film franchise with Ice Cube and Anthony Anderson as well as on the self-titled TV comedy Eve, which aired on UPN from 2003 to 2006.

The Talk is executive produced by John Redmann and Gilbert, who developed the show.
