Tsujimoto's remark gives the impression that what fans will see in the Nintendo Switch is a brand-new iteration of the hit game although there is also a possibility that the "Ace Attorney" title coming to the console could end up being a remaster or a remake instead.

Without any futher evidence we can't possibly say that this rumour is true, but it would certainly make a lot of sense - the Ace Attorney series has been incredibly popular over the years on Nintendo systems and would be well-suited to the Switch's touchscreen. The first is said to be a compilation of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations. The second will contain Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice.

On Friday we brought you the news that Capcom is working on bringing more games to the Switch, specifically name-dropping Ace Attorney as one of the franchises in development. The game is reportedly in development for both Switch and smartphones, and it's targeting a worldwide release in late 2018. First up, it would seem that Capcom is preparing to bundle up past Ace Attorney games in two different collections, due for release some time between April and October next year.

We'll be sure to bring news if anything official is announced. The game will reportedly have five cases at launch, and feature Phoenix Wright in the main role.
