Jason Peters carted off with leg injury

Philadelphia Eagles tackle Jason Peters injured his right knee when a Washington Redskins defender rolled into him and forced him out on a cart.

As Peters was carted off, he received a loud ovation from the crowd at Lincoln Financial Field as fans chanted his name.

While engaged with linebacker Ryan Anderson in pass protection, defensive lineman Ziggy Hood was blocked into the back of Peters' leg, and the 14-year vet collapsed to the ground.

Second-year offensive tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai replaced Peters on the field, and Philadelphia's offense hummed without its elder statesmen on the offensive line.

At 35-years old, it's worth wondering if this is the last time we'll see Peters in an Eagles uniform (should the injury keep him out for the remainder of the season).

One day after perennial All-Pro Joe Thomas was lost for the season, the NFL's other prospective all-decade left tackle sustained a serious injury during Monday Night Football. Peters is under contract through the 2019 season, attached to base salaries of $7.75 million in each of the next two seasons.
