Damon originally said he was unaware of Weinstein's impropriety in an interview with Deadline, which was published on October 10. Gwyneth Paltrow told The New York Times that when she was 22, Weinstein ended a work meeting by placing his hands on her and suggesting they go to his bedroom for massages.

Damon and Clooney were interviewed on Good Morning America on Monday to promote their new movie Suburbicon. "If it's not a moment, there's just going to be stupid Harvey Weinstein jokes in about three months and nothing really moves forward so I hope it is". And I knew he was a womanizer. The actor-director hoped that the scandal acts as a "watershed moment" for society where women feel safe enough to talk about sexual harassment. She was, you know, the first lady of Miramax.

Hollywood continues to reckon with its past in the wake of numerous sexual assault and harassment allegations against film executive Harvey Weinstein, but it's not the only industry that allows a culture of abuses against women to persist. "There's lawyers in NY right now working on eradicating non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) in the case of sexual harassment and I think that's absolutely the right way to go".

"I knew the story about Gwyneth from Ben because he was with her after [her relationship with] Brad [Pitt]", the Oscar victor, 47, told GMA contributor Michael Strahan.

Clooney also insisted that those who helped Weinstein, 65, to cover up his decades of harassment need to also face the consequences.

"When people say everybody knew, yeah, I knew he was an *sshole", says Damon. 'The fact that one of the most powerful people I've seen in Hollywood has been banished basically is a shot across the bow of any man in this industry who would leverage or use their power to mistreat a woman.

'And if there was a newspaper or a website that had this information that investigated it, I'd like to see how much ad money they got from Miramax or from the Weinstein Company.

The ER alum, meanwhile, claimed that Weinstein had told him that he had extramarital affairs with "some actresses who were friends of mine", but Clooney did not believe him at the time. And clearly they didn't. I want to know all of it.

Clooney added that there has to be a comeuppance for "all of the people who were part of" this, which will hopefully "scare away this kind of behavior". "It wasn't secondhand. I knew he did a couple of these things".
