Maruti Dzire sales cross 1 lakh units in less than 6 months

Positioned as an authentic sedan offering plush and roomy interiors, loaded with new features and equipped with advanced safety features, the new Dzire became an instant hit.

Baleno's Launch and a strong performance by the new Dzire have resulted in higher growth for MSIL whereas next biggest manufacturer Hyundai Motor India has experienced 6% YoY sales decline for YTD FY18 in the similar category.

Built afresh on the HEARTECT platform, the new Dzire continues to fulfil the growing aspirations of young and prosperous India, he added.

The auto manufacturer attributed the healthy sales growth to the sedan's "style and looks; the reliable and efficient Maruti Suzuki brand name and exciting new features in the vehicle like the SmartPlay infotainment and the auto gear shift". Maruti Suzuki stated that it conducted a study on the needs and requirements of its customers, and introduced new features in the app.

The vehicle maker has also revealed that almost half of the Dzire customers chose it as their first vehicle and close to 17% of the customers opted for the Auto Gear Shift (AGS) variant. Both engines are available in four trim levels each.

The sedan's diesel variant delivers a fuel economy of 28.4 km per litre, while petrol fuel efficiency is 22 km per litre.

Maruti spent Rs 1,000 crore to develop the new Dzire, which is much lighter and more fuel efficient. The sedan also won the recently held prestigious Good Design Awards 2017, hosted by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion in Japan.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has announced enhancements for its service app Maruti Care. The net turnover during the day was Rs. 123498257.
