A datamine of Pokemon Go's last update "spoiled" the upcoming Halloween event, although fans have widely speculated that the event would coincide with a rollout of new Pokemon. The update brings Pokemon Go version to the 0.79.2 build number and its preparing the game for a new event.

The screen above shows Dusclops, Shuppet, Banette, Duskull, and Sableye - all of them Generation III Pokemon, and they are not in the game. Joining them in the artwork are some Pokemon that are already available in the game, like Caterpie, Gengar, Zubat, and Murkrow. Therefore, Pokemon Go fans should try to download it through a stable Wi-Fi Network instead of mobile data. We still don't know whether we're just getting a handful of new Pokemon or all 135 new Pokemon that first appeared in Pokemon Sapphire and Ruby. Does this mean that these new Pokemon will be introduced into the game during the Halloween event? Also in the sound files is a theme for Lavender Town, a haunted area in the original Pokemon games-quite appropriate for a Halloween theme. "Pokemon Go" players will surely work double time to include these Pokemon to their collection once the batch gets released.

Pokemon Go's Halloween 2017 event still hasn't been officially announced, but we'll keep everyone posted.

Niantic has not released any official announcements regarding the third generation Pokemon.

The weeks following the debut of the Generation 2 Legendaries in the world of Pokemon Go have been rather quiet.
