Sherin's mother, Sini Mathews, spoke through her attorney on Wednesday and said she still hopes for her daughter's return.

Meanwhile the Texas Child Protective Services officials have removed Sherin's 4-year-old sister from the family on October 9 and placed her under protective custody. "Why was the last sighting at 3 o'clock and the parents not call us until after 8 am, that's the question we want answered as well", Perlich was quoted as saying by Dallas Morning News.

The parents of a missing 3-year-old Texas girl are no longer cooperating with police according to FoxNews.

"Sherin did have a medical condition, and they have worked to get it under control", Starr, the lawyer, told CBS DFW. She told police she was asleep when her daughter went missing.

According to NBC, Williams was adopted by the Mathews family from an orphanage in India nearly two years ago. Footage from surveillance cameras in the area also is being reviewed.

Police were checking on registered sex offenders in the area who might be connected to Sherin's disappearance, but noted there was no evidence she had been kidnapped.

He was arrested the same day Sherin went missing on charges of abandoning or endangering a child and posted bail the next day.

Sherin is described as three feet tall and weighs 22 pounds, she has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a pink top, black pajama bottoms and pink flip-flops.

Sherin was adopted two years ago from an orphanage in India and has developmental issues and limited verbal communication skills, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Wesley told investigators that it wasn't unusual for the girl to wake up in the middle of the night to eat something so that her weight would increase. Investigators are also now reviewing footage from surveillance cameras, cellphones and laptops to try to determine the whereabouts of the child.

The community is also shaken up from the matter as well as the toddler's great-uncle.

As times ticks on, the people committed to this search say they're going to keep looking for Sherin regardless of whether the family comes out to help. "The parents are believers in Christ". They loved Sherin very much. "She is distraught", he said. His wife is reportedly very anxious and depressed over their daughter going missing.

According to the American media, Wesley went back home and did laundry even after he realised that Sherin had disappeared. "And you leave your baby?" Richardson police along with an Federal Bureau of Investigation evidence recovery team entered the house of Wesley Mathews to execute a search warrant.
