Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic could turn out for Jose Mourinho's men before the end of the year and is set to return to first-team training next month after making strong progress in his recovery from a serious knee problem.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Sweden global is working on his return from a knee injury that cut the 35-year-old striker's 2016-17 season short.

Once he is fully fit Ibrahimovic will face a major battle to get into the United starting line-up with Romelu Lukaku having scored ten goals in eleven games since his summer switch from Everton.

However, as per a number of reports this morning, the former Barcelona and Juventus star is in fact pushing for a much earlier return, with United's Premier League clash with Arsenal on December 2nd now said to be a realistic target for Ibra.

However, Ibrahimovic's experience will undoubtedly be hugely valuable for a United squad that has designs on winning the Premier League title this season.
