Snapchat Adds Context Cards and How Can They Help Your Small Business?

The feature launched on October 10 for iOS and Android users in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, but you may need to manually update the Snapchat app to access it. The info would be applicable to Snapchat's partner companies, which includes the likes of Uber, Lyft, OpenTable, TripAdvisor, Michelin, Goop, and Foursquare, to name a few. Only Snaps that have been tagged with a geofilter, submitted to the public "Our Story" feed or that appear in the Snap Map or Search features will display the cards. Users can swipe up through "more" on any snap; it will show you an interactive card pop up with contextual information about the place in question.

Without the need to leave the Snapchat app, you can make a restaurant reservation from the Context Card by simply tapping on the OpenTable, Resy or Bookatable option. The information and order varies depending on what is relevant for the location or type of venue, according to a Snap Inc. spokesperson. Snaps sent privately person-to-person or to someone's private story won't be publicly viewable. The additional information about local surroundings opens up another channel for businesses to reach Snapchat users during mobile moments, similar to online review sites like Yelp or partner Foursquare. The option to reserve a table or book a ride can help push would-be customers to the venue more quickly.

Snap (US:SNAP) had its target price raised to $20.00 by Credit Suisse in a report released Wednesday October 11, 2017.

The Context Cards also has the information neatly arranged in different cards with each card showing related information. If an inaccurate review appears, a business will have to work through a partner's website and reporting procedures.

In addition, Our Stories has been integrated into Context Cards so it's easier for people to see Snaps from places and/or events that interest them.

The social media platform finally addressed this issue by introducing the "Context Cards" feature, which now allows users to share general information about their current location like hotels and restaurants while also offering reviews, directions and additional posts from others in the same area.
