Spike Lee is coming to Netflix.

It feels appropriate that the Netflix would re-use the young, aspiring Spike Lee's introduction of his debut feature film to precede the full trailer for the series, which will be Lee's first venture into the television world. For starters, she's not anyone's property.

Spike Lee has dug into his cinematic past - to his first full-length fiction joint, in fact - for this initial foray into TV courtesy of Netflix.

In the updated She's Gotta Have It, Wise's Nola Darling is an uncompromising woman in her late twenties struggling to define herself and divide her time among her friends, her job and her lovers.

And things get particularly hectic on the personal side where Nola, played by DeWanda Wise, juggles all the lovers in her life, including Mars Blackmon, who would later become a big pitchman along with Michael Jordan after the success of the movie. Lee is on board to direct all 10 episodes of the series.

Inspired by the 1986 movie of the same name, She's Gotta Have It follows the vivacious life of Nola Darling, a Brooklyn-based visual artist who leads a complex life romantically with a diverse trio of suitors, each of whom she loves for different reasons. Chyna Layne also stars as Shemekka Epps.

She's Gotta Have It's first season will be released November 23 on Netflix.
