When the deal between Cleveland and Boston was finally completed after a hang-up with Isaiah Thomas" injured hip, Irving released a special "thank you' to the city of Cleveland.

While that is true, there's no escaping the fact that the Celtics have shown a level of cohesiveness at both ends of the floor, that has them maybe ahead of where most - including players - expected them to be at this point in the season.

In a farewell Instagram post after the trade to the Celtics, Irving lauded how great the city of Cleveland and people have been to him.

"It's exciting to be back on the East Coast", he said.

After spending his first six years in the city of Cleveland after just one year in Duke - Irving is feeling rejuvenated in the city of Boston as he gets ready to start his first campaign with the Celtics in just less than a month.

"It's a really major city". Coming from Cleveland, the Midwest, where the culture is different. An ongoing, thriving city.

The four-time All-Star would go on to give more praise to his new home, citing the sports culture as another reason to love his new city. You would go to Cleveland, and it would be at nighttime, and things would be going on, but you just see a vast difference.

Kyrie Irving says that Boston, unlike Cleveland, is a "real, live sports city".

One might think that Irving would simply forget about his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers and move forward with his National Basketball Association career.
