Though she is not the first lady, the president's first wife still wants some credit for Donald Trump's political rise - particularly now that she's cashing in on her ex's White House via a new book titled Raising Trump.

But she turned it down because she already has the "perfect life", which includes jaunts to Saint-Tropez, and winters in Miami.

These days, Ivana writes in her new memoir, "Raising Trump", she enjoys regular conversations with her ex, and has nothing but praise for their three children. "The first lady, OK", she said laughing.

Ivana Trump was married to President Trump from 1977 to 1992. After divorcing his first wife, Trump married Maples in 1993.

"Raising Trump" is set to be released next week. "It was ridiculous", Ivana writes, saying the real reason for her early departure was to get her elderly mother back home to NY. The Associated Press purchased an early copy.

"I can only shake my head at how it insane it was", Ivana Trump writes.

However, the pair are now on better terms with Ivana revealing she speaks to him once a week and has urged him to carry on tweeting.

The White House has not commented about Mr Trump offering Ivana an ambassadorship. He paid the check and chauffeured her back to her hotel.

In a new interview with CBS News, Ivana spoke of how Trump offered to appoint her as the ambassador to the Czech Republic.

"She actively participated in humiliating me in the media and indirectly put my kids at risk for months", writes Ivana, who has three children with Trump: Ivanka, Eric and Donald Jr.

Ivana also criticizes Maples' stint previous year as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, which Trump's first wife called a "disgrace".

"My instincts told me that Donald was smart and amusing - an all-America good guy", Ivana Trump said.
