The Sun says Arsenal v Liverpool is set to be the controversial Christmas Eve 2017 game with a 12.30pm kick-off, according to reports.

"While we understand that it is a normal working day for many, the complications Christmas Eve brings, not least with the provision of public transport, means that a late afternoon or evening kick-off would be impossible for many supporters".

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated his belief that the Gunners' Premier League home clash with Liverpool, which could potentially be moved to Christmas Eve to suit television broadcasters, should not kick off any later than 2pm.

"I know that we have to adapt to the schedule dictated by TV", Wenger said.

"Personally I would prefer to be at my home and celebrate Christmas, but I still feel that could happen if we played early on [Christmas Eve]", the Frenchman added.

Football fans face the logistical nightmare of having to travel around the country just hours before Christmas.

"FSF led 20 fan reps into meeting with PL CEO R Scudamore this morning".

"At today's PL/FSF Fans Group meeting Richard Scudamore commits to no 4pm KO or later on Christmas Eve".

"R Scudamore commits to no PL TV KOs on Sunday mornings/nights". However, moving the Tigers' game against Saracens is all but impossible given it is scheduled to be broadcast on BT Sport as part of its coverage of Aviva Premiership rugby.

Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore this week confirmed to the Football Supporters' Federation there will be no 4pm kick-off on Christmas Eve. "Multiple TV KOs at same time".
