Among the attendees at this year's Lollapalooza was former President Barack Obama's oldest daughter Malia, and acts on stage included The Killers, Chance the Rapper, Muse and Lorde.

Las Vegas mass murderer Stephen Paddock booked two rooms overlooking the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago, just two months before this week's massacre.

TMZ reports Paddock booked two rooms at the Blackstone Hotel, which has a view of Grant Park - where Lollapalooza is held - before and during the festival in early August.

"The hotel directly overlooked the main stage as well as several adjoining stages". And the hotel had a bird's-eye view of the crowd.

Sources told TMZ that Paddock never checked into the hotel. And here's the scariest part ... it's hard if not impossible to flee because of the river.

Paddock booked one room for August 1, 2017 - two days before the festival started.

Paddock had planned to escape the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel after firing on the Route 91 Harvest country music festival, Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo revealed in a press conference Wednesday. The Chicago Sun-Times has also reached out to representatives from Lollapalooza and the Chicago Police Department. The festival draws hundreds of thousands of people to Grant Park, including an estimated 400,000 people in 2016.
