The Italian worldwide joined the Hammers last summer on a season-long loan from Juventus following Euro 2016, where he found infamy for his bad penalty miss against Germany in the quarter-finals.

"It was a huge mistake", his father and agent Antonio told Calciomercato.

Zaza and Valencia have enjoyed an incredible start to the season in La Liga, with Marcelino's side still unbeaten and the Italian striker bagging six goals in his first seven appearance in the league.

He's spoken to Calcio Mercato, and besides talking about how great the striker has been, Antonio was asked if there's any choice they wouldn't make again.

West Ham United midfielder Manuel Lanzini may have a contract until the summer of 2020, but the Argentine will not be satisfied to fight relegation battles at the London Stadium for the forseeable future.

The 24-year-old returned from a knee injury to play 28 minutes of West Ham's dramatic match against Swansea City, where a last-gasp victor from Diafra Sakho gave the Hammers all three points.

"Then he was not well in London, with the weather and even with the kind of methods of his former coach".

Simone Zaza failed at West Ham partly because of his horrific penalty miss for Italy at Euro 2016 the previous summer, according to his agent.

But is he the one to blame?

When Zaza does well, it's all down to him, and when he does poorly, like at West Ham and earlier this season at Valencia, it's the fault of the manager.
