It all happened on Monday when a citizen tried to film a VIP protocol on Karachi's Shahrah-e-Faisal, not realizing that he was tempting fate by inviting wrath of "protectors" who enjoy a bad reputation of turning into "predators" for citizens on numerous public places.

Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja ordered SSP security to take action against police officials involved in physically and verbally abusing a citizen following which ASI Alalh Ditta and constable Shaheen Khan were suspended.

The victim, who kept capturing the protocol after being mistreated uploaded the video on social media, and it ultimately went viral. However the police have not disclosed the name of the VIP who was being given the security protocol. A police spokesperson informed that Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh AD Khowaja directed Ehsan to conduct an inquiry and submit a detailed report on the incident.

The officer said that the police were trying to trace the citizen, who was driving by in a vehicle when he came by the security squad, to record his statement but he disappeared after the incident.
