Jackson joins a number of new additions to Supergirl in its third season.

Supergirl will be getting a helping hand from Saturn Girl in season 3.

Bollywood actress Amy Jackson has been cast in the recurring role of Saturn Girl on The CW TV series Supergirl.

This marks the first USA screen role for the British-born Bollywood star, who will make her debut as Imra Ardeen (better known as Saturn Girl), the kind-hearted, intelligent, and strong-willed hero who uses her telekinetic abilities for good. Saturn Girl's appearance, therefore, may give weight to the theory that when Mon-El (Chris Wood) was sucked into the portal in the finale, he ended up with the Legion. Jackson's Saturn Girl will arrive on Earth to assist Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) in battling against one of her most sinister threats yet. In one episode of Supergirl, a Legion Flight Ring can be spotted in the Fortress of Solitude.

It's notable that the character's origin as a citizen of the 31st century is not mentioned, nor is her ability to read and/or control minds.

A different A.J. - Alexz Johnson - played Saturn Girl in the Smallville episode "Legion". The season premiere's synopsis includes the tease that, "A citizen of National City has a mysterious connection to Kara", stopping short of providing a name for either the character or actor in the role. The series, based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros Television.

Supergirl returns Monday, Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
