The Redmi 5A has apparently been spotted on TENAA's site, further suggesting that Xiaomi could soon launch the Redmi 5 series in China.

In terms of optics, Xiaomi has been said to offer a 16-megapixel main camera to its mid-range segment with the Redmi Note 5. This looks like a very good upgrade over the Redmi Note 4 and price is expected to remain same. Well, it is possible, but who knows. Going by the number of boxes in the photo, Xiaomi has started packing of the Redmi 5 Plus and might soon send invites to the media for the official unveiling anytime soon. The model "Redmi 5 Plus" hints at a variant of Redmi 5 like the Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4X and Redmi Note 4X for the Redmi Note 4. The Redmi 5 is highly likely to incorporate the same design elements as the upcoming Redmi Note 5.

The other speculated features of the Redmi Note 5 include a 12MP selfie camera, a 5.5-inch display, a 4000mAh battery, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat OS, and a USB Type-C port.

Moreover, this will be the first time a company will be using Snapdragon 660 in a budget smartphone. It's worth noting, though, that a rumor which surfaced back in July suggested that the Redmi Note 5 will ship with the Snapdragon 630 SoC. The Redmi Note 5 will nearly certainly be made out of metal, and the device will ship with Android Nougat, with the company's MIUI 9 OS on top of it.

No specifications could be seen on the box but recent leaks tell us that the phone will be equipped with the MediaTek Helio P25 processor and will come in two variants, 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage and 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
