Sources said further that the premier held another meeting with former prime minister and party leader Nawaz Sharif prior to his departure from London.

He was in London from August 31 to be with his ailing wife Kulsoom who is undergoing treatment for throat cancer.

Talking to media in Islamabad, Asif Kirmani said PML-N had been united and would always be united under the leadership of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Other members of his family, including daughter Maryam Nawaz and sons - Hussain and Hassan Nawaz - who have also been summoned by the accountability court, are still in London. He asserted that PML-N chairman did not go to London with his won wish rather he was there for his wife's medical treatment.

In his remarks, Sharif continued to question the court's decision to disqualify him.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the Supreme Court's handling of his review petitions and said that he had never thought of not returning to Pakistan. "If this was about Panama [Papers], then why was I disqualified for holding an Iqama?"

It has been learnt that Dar, having arrived in the country, will appear before an accountability court to face a corruption reference filed against him.

The anti-graft body last week froze the bank accounts and seized properties of Sharif and his family members to put pressure on them to appear before the court. His family has alleged that the cases are politically motivated. It is not about this person anymore.

In a couple of tweets on Sunday, she said: "Knowing what he faces is NOT accountability, the man decides to return".

However, this was in contrast to her stance previously. Must not. Should not be a part of political & personal victimisation in the garb of accountability.

Pakistan Finance Minister Ishaq Dar today appeared before an accountability court here in connection with the Panama Papers scandal and submitted surety bonds worth Rs 1 million to secure his bail.

Sharif stepped down after the Supreme Court disqualified him on July 28 from continuing in his office for dishonesty and ruled that corruption cases be filed against him and his children.
