Britain sent back five Myanmar army officers from a training session this week, "on account of the current situation in Rakhine", Myanmar's army said on Facebook late Wednesday.

The funding "reflects the U.S. commitment to help address the unprecedented magnitude of suffering and urgent humanitarian needs of the Rohingya people", said the State Department's Acting Assistant Secretary Simon Henshaw on Wednesday at the ongoing UN General Assembly here.

Tillerson asked if the USA could provide assistance, reports AP.

"Maritime surveillance aircraft, including Dornier, hovercraft and patrolling ships of the border guarding forces have been activated in the entire region to prevent the influx of Rohingya, who are seen as a major threat to national security by the centre", a senior government official was quoted as saying by India Today.

Based on the ASEAN spirit of solidarity and unity, Indonesia supports the effort of Myanmar to restore peace and stability and provide security and assistance to all those in need irrespective of ethnicity, race, religion and belief, the statement said.

Noting that India is not violating any global law in deporting Rohingyas, he said that the country is not a signatory to the UN Refugees Convention 1951.

As the Myanmar government continues its campaign against Rohingya, forcing thousands to flee the country, Facebook has reportedly banned posts of one of the minority's groups, labeling it a "dangerous organization".
