Former NFL running back Ricky Williams is a University of Texas legend, but that didn't prevent him from spending a night in jail this week.

It is unclear what the warrant was for, but TMZ reports that he is no longer in jail.

Former UT great Ricky Williams was arrested in Austin on traffic warrants. "They had me take everything out of my pockets and they started questioning me", Williams said.

Williams paid a fine and was released just before 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, said Kristen Dark of the Travis County sheriff's department.

The entire incident was captured on the police's dashcam.

Upon arriving back to the hotel, he was approached by multiple police officers responding to a report of a "suspicious person". Williams has been arrested in the past when he was with the New Orleans Saints after he refused to sign a traffic ticket. He missed the 2006 season for violating the league's substance abuse policy. Williams won the Heisman Trophy in 1998. He's now an analyst for ESPN's Longhorn Network.
