The 26-year-old produced a disciplined display in the middle of the park alongside teammate Granit Xhaka as the Gunners managed to register a 0-0 draw against the Premier League champions at Stamford Bridge. "Everyone wanted to see how we responded to our last away league game and we did that in a positive way".

"There has been so much fear at Arsenal of losing Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, this excellent performance at Chelsea without them made you wonder what all the fuss was about", Keown explained.

Having not won the league title since the "Invincibles" season of 2003-04, the French boss faced protest after protest in 2016-17, with fans calling for his head.

Arsenal need to prepare for the departure of Ozil and Sanchez, arguably their two most important players, and bringing in Moura in the new year would help soften the blow significantly.

There were plenty of annoyed Arsenal fans when Wenger chose to sign his new deal and many felt that he probably should have left the club after winning the FA Cup against Chelsea. But we showed solidarity and that was very good. He has been finding himself into some really good attacking positions and has also been handling his defensive duties well.

Anybody remotely familiar with the north London club will know the internal struggle that has engulfed the Gunners in recent seasons, with their manager often in the firing line.

In a courageous move, Arsene Wenger opted to leave want-away forward Alexis on the bench - with the Chilean yet to start a Premier League game since failing to secure a deadline-day move to Manchester City.

The match wasn't without its usual intensity, as tensions rose evenly with David Luiz and Sead Kolasinac's challenges growing more ruthless until the Brazilian was sent off three minutes from regular time. And unsurprisingly so, Chelsea have lost two of those games and drawn one.

Antonio Conte's side had won their last four games in all competitions heading into Sunday's London derby. It marked the first ever time that Chelsea were unable to add to their goal tally at home under Antonio Conte.

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil doesn't seem able to escape criticism even if he doesn't play.
