However, the success of the VR game might have contributed a great deal to the fact that Battlefront 2 now has actual space battle game modes, rather than the original Fighter Squadron mode that was in the first game.

The general manager said that virtual reality will play a role in video games in the next decade, where the developers need to work carefully to exploit all its potential. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen. It might come as a disappointment to many, then, to learn that the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront 2 will not support VR at all. When asked about VR options for the game, they just said "There is no VR". The closest thing to Battlefront in VR we will be getting is the PlayStation VR exclusive mission titled Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission, which released in 2016.

DICE's games are usually known for supporting cutting edge technology, and Star Wars Battlefront was among the first AAA experiences to support the burgeoning VR format. So there's a lot of the VR mission's soul in Starfighter Assault.

Although the news has not been confirmed by developers and publishers, these features are clearly cited in the product card on the Xbox Store.
