Hazard was the prime example of a player who had struggled through the previous season before being given a new lease of life by Conte, winning the PFA Player of the Year award after spearheading Chelsea's march to the league title.

And Antonio Conte has confirmed he is now ready to start his first competitive game, revealing he will be in from the start against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.

The 26-year-old has now made three successive appearances from the Blues bench after missing the first month of the campaign due to ankle surgery over the summer.

"For Eden, now is the right moment to start the game and to try to play the whole game", Conte said in his press conference ahead of facing Forest on Wednesday night.

Hazard went on to say that he did not always like Conte's tactics but, given the success he club has enjoyed under him, he is willing to put the hard yards in for the team. I think we managed very well his situation. With him, we're managing the situation very well. "He can continue to improve in his career and become one of the best".

Hazard recently said Conte improved him within a week of his appointment in a comment which many interpreted as a slight on Jose Mourinho, rather than praise for Chelsea's Italian boss.

Charly Musonda and Kenedy will also be given opportunities in Chelsea's game against Sky Bet Championship side Forest. "Now he's focused, working well, he understood his mistake".

After returning the west London club to the Champions League, Conte is now aiming to take the club to its third European trophy in six years, after Chelsea won the Champions League in 2012 and Europa League in 2013.
