Why iPhone X's Fast-Charging Feature Won't Work With All Apple Accessories

The catch is, you'll have to pay extra for Apple's USB-C power adapters to do it.

Apple's new phones, which were unveiled Tuesday during a special event at the new headquarters for the tech giant, were rumored to have wireless charging, which is a first for the popular iPhone lineup.

While there's a price to pay for fast charging on top of the cost of your new iPhone, it's actually not too surprising this is the case considering Apple is utilizing USB Power Delivery charging spec, as The Verge points out. Integrated Devices will take advantage of wireless charging, as Vihn sees Chinese phone makers also adopting the feature and noting that the company already has secured contracts to supply the technology to them.

The new AirPower charging mat designed by Apple can charge the iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch simultaneously.

Wireless charging, facial recognition, no more "home" button and augmented reality.

Apple doesn't include the necessary accessories for fast charging - a USB-C to Lightning cable and a USB-C Power Adapter - in the box, so you'll need to purchase these separately, either from Apple or somewhere else.

Belkin said that its new pad was the Boost Up, while Mophie's is a wireless charging base for the new Apple iPhones.
