According to officials after the firing the injured personnel were shifted to Army hospital at Poonch for advanced treatment.

Akhnoor (Jammu and Kashmir): The Pakistani security forces on Wednesday unleashed heavy firing in Pargwal area of Akhnoor sector. While the identity of injured BSF personnel was yet not known, police identified the injured civilians as Khurshid Ahmad and Mohammad Kabir.

Defence sources said Pakistani troops again resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing on the LoC in Poonch.

They fired mortar shells along the IB, forcing the BSF to retaliate, resulting in exchange of fire, he said, adding that so far, there is no loss of life or injury to any one.

Injured have been hospitalised at Army Hospital, Poonch and District Hospital.

This comes minutes after a ceasefire violation that took place in the Poonch Sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The firing was effectively retaliated by Indian Army, which claimed to have given Pakistani Army a "befitting response". Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that India would ensure that Pakistan is forced to stop ceasefire violations, which amounted to 400 times since 2014.

On September 4, an infiltrator was killed as forced infiltration bid from across the border was foiled by BSF troops on global border in Arnia Sector.

On Sep 1 a BSF jawan also attained martyrdom in sniper shot fired from across the border.
