This time, the catalyst was a couple fans who unfurled a banner reading "Racism is as American as baseball", on the Green Monster - the popular and very big left field wall at Fenway.

Security reeled the banner back within minutes and escorted the fans from their seats, according to CSNNE.

The fans unraveled the sign and displayed it on the Green Monster in left field after the top of the fourth inning.

Boston fans were embroiled in a racially charged episode in May, when Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones said he was taunted with racial slurs by fans sitting in the Fenway bleachers.

It didn't take long for security to remove the banner and the folks responsible.

Red Sox pitcher David Price has also said that he's heard racial taunts from Fenway fans.

In August, owner John Henry said his team will lead the effort to change the name of Yawkey Way.
