And instead of splashing out loads on a bouquet of flowers that will die the next day, you'd probably prefer to walk down the aisle with a bunch of doughnuts, instead.

Paige Kirk, 23, tied the knot with her long-term partner Steven in rural NSW, but "it wasn't the country setting that had guests gasping with delight", says Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph.

"Me and my husband Steven thought it would be different, fun and light hearted", Kirk said.

On her wedding day this past week, the Australia-based bride surprised her bridesmaids with bouquets of doughnuts - both regular-sized ones and doughnut holes - that were adorned with an ivory icing that matched her dress.

The bouquet came from Dessert Boxes, which ran a competition earlier this year to find a bride who wanted to carry the bouquets at their wedding. This bride was lucky enough to have the flawless bouquet - because nothing says everlasting love like donuts.

"We had plenty of goodies beforehand so we were too full too eat them", the bride told the BBC.

"Everyone thought it was hilarious, and the venue couldn't believe it", she said. "My bridal party was so excited when they found out they were walking down the aisle with donuts", Kirk said in a statement.

However, we've never seen someone go as non-traditional with a flower bouquet as this.
