12 event, taking place at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California, are the iPhone 8, iPhone 7S, and the Apple Watch 3.

It's called the Apple Watch Series 3, and - like its predecessors - will come in a variety of case materials, finishes, and sizes. Also, Apple Heart Study will be available for download from the App Store from later this year.

In a demo, Apple showed a user take a phone call on the Apple Watch 3, in the middle of a lake. This has been asked of Apple for years and the company has finally introduced this.

Apple Music support is coming to Apple Watch Series 3, too, with the full range of 40 million songs available for listening on the device. The company's new LTE- and UMTS-capable Apple Watch will go on sale later this month in 15 countries, with prices starting at $399 for the cellular version or $329 for a version without cellular.

Apple is reportedly collaborating with Boston-based telemedicine vendor American Well and a group of clinicians at Stanford (Calif.) University to test whether its smartwatch's heart rate sensor can be used to detect heart rhythm abnormalities, according to CNBC.

The new Apple Watch may be able to make calls over LTE, and could make use of the phone number on an iPhone.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the Apple Watch was now "the number one watch in the world" citing Rolex as the competition it had overtaken.

There is a gray ceramic version of the watch as well which will be more likely expensive than a standard Apple Watch but is not confirmed if this will be sold alongside the white edition or replace it.

Last year, Apple shifted its focus around the Watch to emphasize its ability to track runs, walks, swims and other fitness activities. You will have to wait for the event to see if they announce similar models for their next Watch. The display itself is an antenna, and its SIM card is electronic.

The watch has two versions, which will cost 329 and 399 USA dollars.

The watch is expected to have 18 hours of battery life across a mix of LTE, WiFi and Bluetooth. Despite this, Macworld point out that Apple does not have a regular launch pattern for the Watch since there have only been two generations.
