Westbrook has never had a signature shoe, but that's going to change very soon.

ESPN's Nick DePaula reports that Westbrook signed a ten-year contract extension with Nike's Jordan Brand, and that the deal will make him the highest-paid endorser in the brand's history. He has slowly become the face of the brand after first signing an endorsement deal in 2013. He's an explosive, mean, and tough player who literally does everything for his team on the court.

"Westbrook is a terrific ambassador for the brand - fabulous athlete, great personality, fits with the Jordan ethos".

It remains to be seen as to what Westbrook's new line of sneakers will resemble but this is huge news in the sneaker industry. Still, this investment in Russell Westbrook looks to a massive one, even before we know financial details of what it will resemble - DePaula reported that "Westbrook has been positioned as the face of the brand".

Historiycally, Jordan Brand's biggest struggle is that only the retro products are profitable.

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook had a record breaking year last season.

His efforts on the court have been rewarded, as the spitfire guard will reportedly sign an approximately $200 million 10-year extension with the Jordan Brand. He was also just in China to reveal the Air Jordan XXXII. After acquiring All-Star forward Paul George via trade, Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder are expected to compete for a Top-4 seed in the taxing Western Conference. The Thunder offered the reigning MVP a five-year, maximum deal July 1.

The deal is a commitment to Westbrook beyond just basketball, too.

The new shoe deal extension, negotiated by the Wasserman agency and Westbrook's longtime agent, Thad Foucher, is in advance of the initial deal's expiration next fall.

This is not the only extension possibility that was part of Westbrook's summer.
