Amaterasu is getting a 4K makeover, and she's bringing the loading screen mini-game from the original PlayStation 2 release with her.

Clover Studio is gone, but the Capcom-funded independent studio's most attractive title, Okami, is getting a modern HD remake that's hitting all major consoles (sorry Switch fans) later this year on December 12th. The game is heading to PC but only as a digital download. That said, if you are an old school fan, you can still play the game in its original 4:3 format. If this rumor is true, it suggests the game may well come to other territories. The HD version offered up a higher level of graphical detail, and for this watercolor painting-inspired adventure, it really made things pop even more. Kamiya is employed at Platinum Games, an Osaka-based independent development studio, notes wccftech. A physical version is set to be released in Japan for all three platforms, but that might be wishful thinking for anyone in Europe or North America. This includes PC, Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro.

While we still hold out hope for a Switch version of Okami, we'll take any excuse we can get to experience this somewhat underrated masterpiece one more time. The much-anticipated event will start at 20:00 JST on September 21, and the Mega Man panel is scheduled for September 24 from 14:20 to 15:05 JST.
