Junior Cert Results are out

The subject with the lowest numbers now is Ancient Greek, which just 26 students sat this year.

The ever-popular Junior Cert results celebration disco will take place in the Hub at Cillin Hill later on this evening, hosted by the No Name Club.

FOR 61,654 JUNIOR Certificate students the wait is over today.

Under the new system which only applies to English students results will receive a Distinction, or a Merit, or an Achieved mark instead of the traditional A, B, C, system. Fifty-four received 11 As and 240 got 10.

English is the first subject to have undergone a reform in teaching, learning, assessment and grading.

A new report commissioned by alcohol industry body Drinkaware found that seven out of 10 parents believe their drinking habits influence their children's attitudes towards alcohol.

It's Junior Cert results day and event managers will be clamping down on underage drinking.

. "Now is the time to have that all-important conversation about alcohol".

Results are out this morning for more than 60,000 pupils.

"While these exams are undoubtedly important, they are not the be all and end all".

In maths and in Irish a trend which sees more students opting for higher level papers continues.
