Bruno Mars to headline CBS special on November 29

Atlantic Records and CBS announced Tuesday that "BRUNO MARS: 24K MAGIC LIVE AT THE APOLLO" will air November 29 on CBS.

While Mars, born Peter Gene Hernandez, has played before a large TV audience in the past, Variety reports this will be his first-ever solo television special.

News of the primetime special first percolated this weekend, when Mars and his backing band the Hooligans performed atop the famed venue's marquee. The special will continue to tape for the next few weeks, with promises of never-before-seen performances throughout the hour-long show.

This will be the Grammy winner's first prime-time television special. "This will be a special show and a special night". "He burns the roof off the Apollo while paying respect to its tradition and history".

The title references Mars' recent album "24K Magic", which has sold more than 1.4 million albums, according to Nielsen Music.

The two-time Super Bowl performer previously teased tickets to a "secret New York Show" with limited information.

The a year ago has been a massive success for the singer, songwriter and producer.

Mars serves as executive producer alongside Ben Winston on 24K Magic Live at the Apollo.
