So what's Apple going to do? The Apple Watch 3 can be easily identified by its red digital crown.

American Well declined to comment on its involvement with Apple to CNBC. Apple boasted a 50 percent year-over-year growth from 2016 for their smartwatch's sale. Another big highlight of the latest operating system is the integration of Siri, Apple's voice assistant. But it is not beyond the scope of imagination to see Apple Watch devices in the future measuring things like blood pressure, glucose levels and resting basal metabolism, to name but a few. We'll let you know more about how different the Watch Series 3 really is as more information is available.

The Series 3 will come in a wide variety of cases and bands including a new space gray band, a new sport loop band, new Nike Plus and Hermes models, and a new gray ceramic Watch.

The first part consists of a inductive charging base - just like the one used on the current charger - but diagrams obtained by Apple Insider show it connected to a small battery house on the inside of the watch's strap. Your contacts can reach you on your Apple Watch with the same number they call or text to get you on your phone.

This technology needs to be built into gym machines, which means manufacturers like Life Fitness will need to update existing machines and create new ones.

The new Apple Watch ships with watchOS 4.0, but you can install it on your watch next week.

WatchOS 4 will also feature an improved smart activity tracker, a redesigned workout app and music experience, and new swimmer features.

These improvements will roll out with watchOS 4 on 19 September.

The third generation Apple Watch has been revealed. As well as making everything generally more responsive this also allows Siri to talk for the first time on a Watch. The Series 3 units, meanwhile, will be available to pre-order from September 15th, with shipping expected to commence on September 22nd. Apple's Series 1 of the wearable appeared in April 2015, although it was unveiled much earlier.

The Apple Watch Series 2 was released in 2016, and time is ticking on (hahaha) to the next inevitable iteration of Apple's flagship wearable.

The biggest feature of the upcoming Series 3, according to Bloomberg, is that it will feature a built-in LTE cellular connection. Sources close to the matter claim that Apple is working with Standford and telemedicine company American Well to determine if the wearable is accurate and sensitive enough to reliably detect abnormal heart rhythms.
