Following months of speculation, Capcom has officially revealed Okami HD for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The announcement was made in the latest issue of Japanese games mag, Weekly Famitsu, confirming the game for release in Japan.

All providers of early Famitsu magazine information: Alternator, Ryokutya, and Hachima, have reported that Okami HD will be released in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on December 21, and also for PC (presumably Steam) on December 13.

Of course, a western release is (hopefully) a no-brainer, meaning Okami HD should also arrive in regions outside of Japan sometime in December. Players can also change the aspect ratio to the original releases 4:3, and the mini-games that used to be on the loading screen of the PS2 original will be making a return. Unfortunately, the game won't be coming to Nintendo Switch at this stage, which is a real shame.

As of press time, Capcom hasn't announced the release dates for Europe or North America, but we expect one at any time now.

Okami was originally released for the PlayStation 2 back in 2006 and was praised by critics for its gorgeous visuals, engaging story, and originality.
