Stoke City coach Mark Hughes has hailed Eric Choupo-Moting after he scored a double to help his side to a 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Saturday. Mourinho had been asking for just such a test.

Speaking to reporters afterwards, Mourinho bemoaned Stoke's tactics as defensive - despite them becoming the first team to breach his backline this term - and claimed the match was "a game for [Marouane] Fellaini", given the willingness of United's opponents to take the aerial route.

"The thing I want to happen is for the team to be losing, so I can see the way we react emotionally", he said after the 4-0 win at Swansea in August.

"A striker is always rated by assists and goals but I always try to play well and give 100% for the team".

Eric Bailly's lack of positional assurance led to Jean-Eric Choupo-Moting scoring Stoke's opener before a slip from Phil Jones allowed the Cameroon worldwide to claim his second six minutes after Romelu Lukaku put the visitors ahead.

The Potters did not sit back and they leveled matters on 62 minutes when Choupo-Mouting rose well to head home at the far post.

In the standing table of English Premier League, Manchester United is in the second place with nine points and the team Stoke City is in the 12th place with four points.

"I think they are all much of a muchness really". "I know after internationals there are no miracles".

Indeed, but Mourinho will have to break new ground to keep them at the summit.
