Offensively, Nebraska football averages 43.0 points and 463.0 total yards, 238.0 in passing and 225.0 in rushing per game. Freeman scored on a 1-yard run to finish an eight-play, 73-yard drive, and running back Kani Benoit scored on a 5-yard run to cap a seven-play, 70-yard drive.

The Huskers got a big break when they recovered a fumble deep in OR territory, and running back Mikale Wilbon capped it off with a three-yard touchdown to make it 42-35 with 2:47 to go. His production did tail off in the second half, though. Getting revenge should have been one of the biggest motivating factors for Oregon.

"This is about the Nebraska team playing the Ducks, but it is fun for me", Riley said.

The Ducks' first-year coach described himself as a "jughead" for drawing an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and admitted that Texas A&M's epic collapse at UCLA last Sunday was on his mind during the second half. Nebraska ball with 4:56 left to play.
