Two militants were neutralised in an encounter with security forces in the Sopore township of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Monday, the police said. Speaking to PTI, the official further informed that the forces were conducting a search operation and this was when the militants opened fire on them.

"The army and police contingents cordoned off the area on specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants". The police said that the bodies of two terrorists have been recovered and three weapons were also seized from the site of encounter.
