Giants acquired CB Ross Cockrell from the Steelers in exchange for an undisclosed 2018 draft pick. Details of which pick have yet to be released.

Cockrell was the odd man out in Steelers' outside corner competition.

Well, Pittsburgh made sure they got something for the cornerback, even if it's nothing guaranteed.

Last year, Cockrell's role increased, as he started all 16 games and ended up posting 62 stops, a fumble recovery and 14 passes defended. He had 44 tackles, two interceptions and 11 pass defenses that season along with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Cockrell will start his fourth season in the National Football League with a new team.

For all Steelers roster moves, stay connected with Still Curtain. Cockrell played his high school ball in North Carolina and was a two-time All-ACC player. Cockrell played in 15 games with the Steelers in 2015, starting seven. In New York, Cockrell will be needed depth behind Janoris Jenkins, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and sophomore Eli Apple. Sep.
