If you are a registered developer or a member of Apple's public beta testing program you can now download the new iOS 11 beta 9 software.

Apple is doing everything it can to keep iOS 11 features behind cover, but that's basically impossible now that the operating system is live for beta testers. We'll trawl through the release notes to find you everything new, but in the meantime, you can download the beta for yourself to go play with.

The next iPhone's screen design and face unlock or virtual home button features were also revealed in the HomePod firmware. However, ValueWalk opined that this could be related to the App Store bug that was apparently affecting some users of previous iOS 11 betas.

The ninth beta of iOS 11 was released on the same day when Apple sent out invites for a September 12 press event.

It's not clear why Apple quickly rolled out iOS 11 beta 9 days after the pre-release version with build number 15A5368a was launched.

The sole goal of this release is so that app developers can get their hands on the new software before iPhone 8 comes out.

Today, Apple began sending out invitations for its next big event, where the company is expected to announce a trio of new iPhones, an Apple Watch Series 3 with a cellular variant, and an Apple TV that supports 4K and HDR.

Interested developers and eager beta testers can get their hands on the new software by downloading it from the official Apple Developer Center.
