As announced by stalwart British development group Team 17, Worms W.M.D is bringing its microscopic warfare to the Nintendo Switch soon.

Single Joy-Con play is supported as well as local wireless multiplayer and local and online multiplayer as you make it rain Holy Hand Grenades and inch your way all across each map, making it your business to destroy all worms.

Worms W.M.D is due out on Switch during the fourth quarter of 2017.

The Switch release will also include the existing Forts Mode, as well as a new space theme, mushroom and tree forts.

On August 31, Nintendo revealed a number of new indie games for Switch during an event it called the "Nindies Summer Showcase". On top of that, there will be new customization options ranging from new outfits and gravestones.

The game doesn't have an exact release date or price, but it should arrive later this year, and should be somewhere around $19.99, maybe less.

Worms WMD already made a big, ahem, impact when it debuted back in August 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, becoming an instant multiplayer favorite amongst the community. It has thirty campaign missions, with over eight weapons for use. The company is reportedly increasing production, which should hopefully satisfy consumers in the coming months.
