Lily Collins is known for her work in the TV series The Last Tycoon, in which she plays the role of Celia Brady, as well as films like The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, The Blind Side, Love Rosie, Rule Don't Apply and Mirror Mirror with Julia Roberts.

Now in a recent announcement by THR, Lily Collins is in talks to play Bratt in Tolkien. Finnish director Dome Karukoski will helm the movie. With a script by David Gleeson and Stephen Beresford, it will reportedly focus on the early years of the author's life as a student in the early 20th century prior to the outbreak of World War I, in which he served as a member of the British Armed Forces. When the horrors of World War I envelope Tolkien's life, they threatened to tear this "fellowship" apart, and he questions the very meaning and goal of his art. These formative experiences would go on to fuel his work in the fantasy world.

Should Collins close a deal, she'll join the film as Tolkien's great love and wife, Edith, who served as the author's inspiration for the elven princess characters in the Lord of the Rings novels. And she's not alone, as Olivier award-winning actor Anthony Boyle is also in the cast, though The Hollywood Reporter's story doesn't specify who he'll play. She's also been seen in the Netflix film Okja and the film To the Bone. As for Boyle, he's in an episode of Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams.
