One does understand the sheer frustration of Bhupathi, who would always treasure anything related to his tennis, and the towels used by Lara were of a grand slam, which is considered the most prestigious for any player.

While the heavy rain is taking a toll on Mumbaikars, Lara Dutta tried to save her house using her husband's towels.

Lara used her husband Mahesh Bhupathi's towels from major tournaments of Wimbledon U.S., Australian and French Open, to clog the water. With rains pouring, and Lara realising that it is just a matter of time before the water seeps underneath the small gaps of the doors, she had an idea to stop the water from coming in.

She wrote, "Putting our Wimbledon, US Open, Aus Open & French Open towels to good use! @Maheshbhupathi #MumbaiRain.Stay safe & indoors if possible folks!" A day later, the former Indian tennis star reacted to his wife's activity and it seems he was not at all happy.

However, Bhupathi was quick to respond and engaged in a light banter and said, "Are u kidding me!" Bhupathi who has won four men's doubles Grand Slam titles and eight mixed doubles crowns during his career, is also known to have an admirable collection of towels.

The government and civic authorities in Maharashtra have sounded high alert with torrential rains lashing Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad and other parts of the state for the fourth consecutive day, severely affecting normal life and paralysing the lifelines - local train and bus services - in the state capital.
