Iwobi Out Of Cameroon Match

Nigeria will welcome Cameroon in Uyo on the 1st of September 2017, while the return leg match is scheduled to be played in Yaounde three days later.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles handler Gernot Rohr has replaced Alex Iwobi with CSKA Moscow striker Aaron Samuel and he is expected to arrive at the Eagles camp on Monday, August 28.

"Those guys (the coaches) have been with the team in the last two years and they know the weaknesses and strengths of the team".

Standard Liege defensive midfielder Uche Agbo has also received a late invitation from the Nigerian Federation.

The 21-year-old, who has been linked with a move to Galatasaray, is the nephew of Nigeria star Jay-Jay Okocha.

Eagles Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, confirmed yesterday that the duo will join the squad in Uyo this week, but that the team will begin training in Abuja this evening.

He is also of the view that the addition John Obi Mikel and Odion Ighalo will add bite to the squad as they confront the African champions.

Mikel who is staging a comeback to the team after missing the 0-2 loss to South Africa in the AFCON 2019 qualifiers, landed in Nigeria on Sunday evening.

Christian Bassogog has said that Cameroon's target, is to defeat Nigeria this weekend, in their 2018 World Cup qualifier.
