The 20-year-old is reportedly set to sign a new five-year-deal at Tottenham after his performance against Newcastle topped off a series of impressive showings in training.

The 20-year-old made his Premier League debut against Newcastle on the opening day of the season, turning in an impressive display in the 2-0 win at St James' Park.

Tottenham saw their star defender Kyle Walker leave the club and complete a switch to Manchester City earlier in the summer transfer window.

Kyle Walker-Peters has signed a new contract with Tottenham which will keep him at the club until 2020, the Premier League side have announced.

Since featuring in the club's post-season tour of Malaysia and Australia back in 2015, he has since risen through the ranks of the youth teams, making 58 appearances across the Professional Development League and the UEFA Youth League.

Walker-Peters replaced Walker in the right wing-back position for Mauricio Pochettino's side in the opening tie against the Magpies.

He is now likely to challenge Trippier for the starting berth at right-back ahead of Spurs' next game against Burnley.
