Jim Dyson/Getty ImagesJAY-Z is opening up about that now infamous fight with Solange at a 2014 Met Gala party.

"We've always had a great relationship", he said during a lengthy interview with Rap Radar hosts Elliott Wilson and Brian Miller, posted to JAY-Z's streaming service, Tidal. "I protégerais. This is my sister and not my sister-in-law, she is my sister".

Although the father-of-three did not give any details as to what actually sparked the altercation, he, however, reassured his fans that their relationship is doing just fine.

The rapper and business mogul compared his relationship with Solanage to how he fought with his brothers growing up. It just so happens, who we are, these things go into a different space.

"We've had one disagreement ever", he continued. This also allegedly explained why Beyonce did not stop her sister from attacking her husband.

The footage appears to show Solange trying to kick and hit JAY-Z in front of Beyonce before being restrained by security at New York's Standard Hotel. Don't go doing something that allows people to pit us against each other and talk about my child or even his child. That doesn't surprise me.

Proving that the elevator fight with Solange was already a thing of the past, JAY-Z quipped about the incident during the interview and expressed his admiration to his sister-in-law's music. Incredible artist... Bey made an incredible album before, a hundred of 'em.

Both Jay-Z and Beyonce have enjoyed superbly high commercial success even before the incident happened, while Solange, though her album sales were nothing to scoff at, had comparatively moderate success.

But let's be honest - we still need way, way more information.
