Suspected militants, who gunned down cable operator in Kashmir, identified

Reports said two unidentified militants shot at Hilal Ahmad Malik outside District Hospital, Shopian around 8 pm.

A bullet- riddled body of a 16-year-old youth, was recovered in Shopian district of south Kashmir on Sunday morning.

Militants had shot dead a PDP worker at Dialgam in Anantnag district last evening.

Hizb-ul-Mujahideen in a statement issued in Srinagar said, "Kashmiri youth with freedom loving spirit have always remained on the radar of Indian agencies". Operations have been launched to track down the killers, a police spokesperson said.

Ahmad's family sources said that he had left his home last evening.

His funeral prayers were offered outside the Jamia Masjid Shopian.

The body of Gowhar Ahmad Dar had one bullet wound. "He was very shy, had never participated in anti-India rallies". In the morning we heard that a dead body was lying in the nearby sericulture orchard. Urpora villagers even damaged several private vehicles at several areas in the south Kashmir over the killing of three persons.

"Gowhar Ahmed Dar of Urpora #shopian just 16 years old boy killed by militants. police is investigating the matter", said the Twitter post. No militant outfit owned responsibility for the killing. The militant ranks even suspect the residents giving the information to the security forces about their presence, a senior intelligence officer said.
