The Bhoys have started this season as they finished the last, with a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Saturday continuing their ideal record in 2017-18.

The Bhoys crushed FC Astana 5-0 in the Champions League in midweek and so head into the game against Kilmarnock high on confidence and looking to go top of the table.

Among those to feature in the Scottish Premiership clash were youngsters Tony Ralston and Calvin Miller at full-back, while Kristoffer Ajer started alongside Kieran Tierney in the centre of defence.

James Forrest marked his 150th league appearance for the Hoops by converting Rogic's cut-back for a 40th-minute opener.

"I'm absolutely delighted with the integration of our young players, how they are playing, how they are working and how they are fitting into our ideas", Rodgers said.

The Socceroos star then provided the killer pass for Callum McGregor to add a late second in the 88th minute.

"I sat here four or fi ve weeks ago talking about the Green Brigade and obviously they had been out of the stadium for a little while but they came back in and they along with the other support that was there created this unbelievable atmosphere that really helped and drove the players on".

The 24-year-old's performance earned him praise from Kilmarnock manager Lee McCulloch. They all worked cohesively with the senior players who have been brilliant in my time here.

"I thought the level of technique and composure on what is always a hard surface was great".

Brendan Rodgers' side are now unbeaten in 52 domestic matches and have conceded just once in nine competitive matches this season.
