"We, the cabinet colleagues of Parrikar, are comfortable working with him because we can easily put issues before him, discuss them and deliberate on them", he added, maintaining that within five months, Parrikar has a clear policy outline on casinos, brought amendment to the Goa Tenancy Act as well as Goa Preservation of Trees Act, and identified the role of Goa in nationalisation of state rivers.

But, Parrikar "has already lost his bearings" by taking the wise voters "so lightly and treating the state as his personal fiefdom with little faith in the democratic process", the Sena said.

The website which ran the fake news is now offline. The party has said in the editorial that such a statement of Parrikar is not only to make the post of Chief Minister of Goa garbage, but also the post of Defense Minister of the country is insignificant.

"I can't go around everywhere saying the news is bogus. People who have an axe to grind against me, have splashed it around", Parrikar reportedly said. "You will hear a lot of bogus news until August 23 because the dirty tricks department of the Congress is a lot".

According to the editorial by Saamna, Uddhav Thackeray called Manohar Parrikar a failure as a defence minister. He was sent in the form of Chief Minister and now he is threatening that even if he goes to the by-election, he will again become the Defense Minister at the Center.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has complained to election authority about fake news claiming that Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will return back to Central Ministry if he loses Goa by-elections.

Parrikar also cautioned the students against another spate of bogus news which, he said, would continue until the culmination of the August 23 by-poll. The bypolls were necessitated following the resignations of BJP's sitting MLA Siddharth Kuncolienkar and Congress' Vishwajeet Rane, from Panaji and Valpoi seats, respectively.

The party alleged that by circulating distorted and false news item on social media, an attempt has been made to create falsehood and malign the image of Parrikar, adding that it is an attempt to misguide the electorate of the Panaji constituency from where Goa Chief Minister is contesting the by-polls.

Shiv Sena has accused the Prime Minister of insulting Parrikar on the "prayer" of Parrikar's defeat in the upcoming assembly by-election.
