Tigers mob teammate Justin Upton after his two-run walk-off home run during the ninth inning of Saturday night's game against Minnesota in Detroit.

YANKEES 5, RED SOX 4: At New York, Aaron Hicks awoke a dormant offense with a two-run homer that sparked a five-run eighth inning, then threw out a runner at third in the ninth inning to help Aroldis Chapman get out of trouble and helped New York stop Boston's winning streak at eight. He needs one home run to tie Gary Sheffield for the Marlins' single-season mark set in 1996.

Mauer, a career.303 hitter against Detroit in 733 at-bats, hit a two-run homer off reliever Edward Mujica in the sixth and Byron Buxton added a sacrifice fly later in the inning to pad the Twins' lead to 11-6.

The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the first on Mahtook's second homer in as many days.

Jose Iglesias hit a two-run homer, his fourth home run of the year, in the eighth inning after James McCann reached a career-best five RBIs by hitting into a forceout with runners on first and third.

He would give up another run on an RBI single by Dozier before departing. The Twins are allowing an average of 3.2 runs during the winning streak and leaned heavily in the series opener on the bullpen, which responded by allowing one run and four hits in 4 1/3 innings in relief of ineffective starter Kyle Gibson. Berrios lasted 3 1/3 innings, giving up six runs and six hits with two walks.

Stanton has hit 20 home runs in his last 32 games.

Carlos Martinez (9-9) tossed six solid innings and also drove in a run for the Cardinals.

Brandon Phillips homered for Atlanta, which lost its fifth in a row.

The last time the Twins won seven games in a row was 2011, when they won eight straight from June 11-21.

BLUE JAYS 7, PIRATES 2: Chris Rowley pitched 51/3 innings to win his major league debut, Jose Bautista scored two runs and Toronto won at home. Zimmermann was not almost as strong at Minnesota on July 22, when he was ripped for five runs on nine hits and four walks in 3 2/3 innings.
